FIRST BULLETIN

The international symposium �NUCLEAR CLUSTERS AND NEUTRON-RICH NUCLEI� (CLUSTERS�08) continues a series of meetings on these and related subjects at the St.Petersburg State University. International conference�Clustering Phenomena in Nuclear Physics� (2000) was followed by �Halo�03� and by �Frontiers in the Physics of Nucleus� (2005). The topics of talks delivered at these conferences reflect the growing interest of nuclear physics community to the exotic nuclear states and to the properties of nuclei near and beyond the drip-lines. The important role in these investigations plays scientific school of nuclear physicists of St.Petersburg State University under the guidance of Professor Konstantin A. GRIDNEV.

PUBLICATIONS

The book of abstracts will be published and distributed among participants during the Symposium. We kindly ask to submit the abstracts of talks in electronic form using Word (in .rtf format) to Dr. Aleksandr Vlasnikov (clusters08@mail.ru, subject Clusters-2008) before March 31, 2008.

The text of abstracts should be prepared in English using Times New Roman fonts and should not exceed one page of A4 size (210mm x 297 mm, left margin 30mm, upper margin 20 mm, right margin 20 mm, bottom margin 20 mm) including figures, tables and references. The title font size is 16 pt, bold, centered, line spacing 1. The authors list should be typed using 14 pt fonts, line spacing 1. The speaker's name should be underlined. Names of authors are before surnames and separated by a break from surnames. The list of organizations should be typed in italic, 12 pt fonts, line spacing 1, with semicolons between names of the organizations. If the authors work in different organizations these organizations should be enumerated with the numbers given in the superscripts after the author's name in the list of authors and in superscripts before the name of organization in the list of organizations. Please, type e-mail of speaker in the next raw after the list of organizations. The body of a text should be prepared using 14 pt fonts, line spacing 1. All figures should be in black and white. The bibliography list (12 pt) should be enumerated and the reference numbers in a body of the abstracts should be in brackets. The author's name in the bibliography should be before surname without any break between them. The template of the abstracts can be downloaded from here.

VISAS AND INVITATIONS

The "Clusters�08" participants planning to attend �Nucleus-2008� (Moscow, Russia, June 23-27, 2008) before the "clusters08@mail.ru " will receive invitations to Russian Federation from the Organizing Committee of �Nucleus-2008�  conference (in accordance with the agreement between Organizing Committees of "Clusters�08" symposium and �Nucleus-2008� conference). In this case, please inform the Organizing Committee of �Nucleus-2008� conference about your intention to visit St.-Petersburg and participate in "Clusters�08" after attending Moscow. Otherwise to get the entry visa in due time the participants of "Clusters�08" conference and accompanying persons are kindly asked to send to the Organizing Committee the copy of their passport with the pages reflecting name, sex, passport number, date of issue and date of expire, place of birth, date of birth. In addition the data on home country, home address, affiliation with mailing address and postal code, position occupied, phone and fax numbers are required. It is desirable to send all these data before March 31, 2008, preferably by e-mail (copy of the passport in .jpg format) to Dr.Aleksandr Vlasnikov (clusters08@mail.ru) or by fax +7-812-4287240 (to Dr.Aleksandr Vlasnikov). Upon receipt of the required personal data the Organizing Committee will send to the participants an official invitation by mail, fax or e-mail with which they should apply to the Russian Consulate for their visas. The participants are asked to acknowledge receipt of the invitation and the visa or inform the Organizing Committee about receiving the invitation and visa through the Organizing Committee of �Nucleus-2008� conference.

COST AND ACCOMODATION

The registration fee amounting to 200 euros for participants and 100 euros for accompanying persons includes the cost of the book of abstracts, the banquet, transportation from airport to the hotel and backwards, and cultural events. The hotel costs are 20-40 euros/day and they are not included in the registration fee. DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT THE HOTEL WILL BE GIVEN IN THE NEXT BULLETIN.
